United Kingdom

It's been almost 3 weeks since I arrived in Heathrow airport that night. The feelings for the first night in United Kingdom that I had was still playing vividly in my mind, in which I told myself I will not be seeing my family for quite a long time(I cried alot- silently). Of cos the best part of studying abroad is that you get to explore countries that you wished to go wif all your heart, while the down part is that maybe you'll get homesick for awhile, but looks like I'm adapting myself to the 'environment' in Oxford city,United Kingdom.

I got 2 new pair of shoes. One from nike n the other from converse.yeepee! and also a pair of jeans from dorothy perkins. itssss fun to shop.

So it's all bout packing n packing n packing. My mum n I actually bought a vacuum bag for the purpose of saving space. So I squashed n rolled my clothes into that vacuum bag. my goodness now my clothes look nothing more than "salty vegetables".

So I got my temporary accommodation liao. My name is displayed like this: Min Yuen Ju.

Ju...????a.willmore pulak not in d office. so havta reply to his colleague.

So far, I have learnt how to steam chicken n cook soup. Haiya of coz i noe how to fry egg n all sort of easy oness larr.

The countdown begins

I still have 3 more days to spend time with my family. For almost 20 years, I'm living under my parent's cocoon. So now it is time to remove/pierce/destroy the covered silk provided by my parents all along. It is time for this 1988 baby to go to United Kingdom to complete her final year Law Honours Degree in September 2008. Thank you for providing me a luxurious lifestyle in Malaysia for this twenty years. I am indeed ready to spread my wings.

And, I guarantee, I'll flood KLIA with tears at the early breakdawn in this coming friday. I really find it hard to part with my family. Maybe because this is my first time being independent. This is life larr. I guess probably this is the first stage of learning life-being able to live by yourself. Well I don't think this is true cos I'm still using my parent's money. Right ppl?

Once again, thanks for raising me up. I will be a better daughter.

Steaming a chicken

For the first time in my life, I touched, washed, rubbed an uncooked chicken. It isn't that bad after all cos its skin and meat is very fluffy and spongy, nice to touch. However, I thought that my dad's recipe for steamed chicken is too simple after all. With just 3 pieces of garlic and soy sauce. So I was like kinda brainstorming the ways of cooking a chicken. Should I add some honey+ lemon into it? Or a mixed recipe of chicken and pork should be nice..hehee. Of course I'm gonna learn how to cook "pong-teh" the following day.(a hokkien dish) Woah.. from a level of not knowing to cook rice to this stage of brainstorming, I think I am very impressive for learning it all in half a day. Haha who knows on tues I'm already mastering all the recipes in the recipe book that I bought not too long ago in MPH.

In my opinion, the cooking process is really exciting and fun and most importantly-self satisfaction. I'm delighted that I can cook now. Though I realli enjoyed the princess life of not need to cook, but then again I seriously think the sort of princess life is not fun at all. *haha* Haiya, I mean, not that my housemaid can cook really well. So the whole family got bored of dinner since long time ago.

I think I will satisfy myself the most when I know how to cook bak-kut-teh and making sushi.*yeepee!*

Oh ya, not to forget, the famous dish ever known-the paper wrapped chicken. Yummy yummy yummy!! I'm so gonna master it all!!
